A well defined target audience is the key to understanding the ability to expand your revenue. Research needs to address all aspects of the audience including motivation and media usage. This research usually uncovers numerous ideas and avenues for expanding revenue streams.

Peter Drucker, one of the most widely-known and influential thinkers on management said, "The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself."

It has been said that "Content is King!" and in today's world content must be centered around your target audience rather than itself. It must attract people rather than interrupt them, and it’s more about them than it is about you. Content is the only thing the audience sees, not your strategy, not your media choices, only your content. It must be all about the wants, needs and motivation of your target audience!

Nielsen research reports that it takes people that are currently in the buying market to see your content 3 to 12 times (depending on your product) in order to be effective. Sports advertising, especially sports like baseball, can run the risk of getting into negative frequency and alienating people if the content is not changed strategically.

One of the best examples of content that is still remembered today is  the "Hey Kid, Catch!" Coke television commercial starring Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle "Mean" Joe Greene. The commercial debuted on October 1, 1979, and was re-aired multiple times, most notably during Super Bowl XIV in 1980. It is still talked about today! Check it out
